So on 2nd August 2015, I took on what would be my biggest physical challenge to date – riding 100 miles through London & the surrey countryside. All in aid of a fantastic charity Alex’s Wish.
I was incredibly nervous for the event, although I had trained hard, I was anxious about what to expect, how quick I would go (there was a time limit), whether I’d fall off and of course the climbs of Leith Hill & Box Hill fill even the most experienced cyclist with dread!!
I had visualised my finishing time and also had my stops and every 10 miles planned out.
There was no need to have worried, I flew through the first 50 miles, an accident meant I couldn’t tackle Leith Hill, but I finished in well under the time I anticipated and raised a load of cash for a fantastic charity!
Bring on next year!!
